Lisa Hall - Parent Governor
I became a parent governor in 2002 because I wanted to find out more about the school and how it was run. I also thought it might give me the chance to have an input into some decisions that could have an influences on my children's education.
I work part time as an adiminstrator so I am not an expert in education or running a school, but I have found the governor role very interesting and I am able to contribute to discussions and decisions that affect how the school is run.
The time commitment required is varied - it does depend on how many committees you are on, but a fair estimate is about 2 - 4 meetings a term.
